Block bottom bags OPP highly transparent – crystal-clear presentation packaging for food and delicatessen products
Our block bottom bags are made of 40 µm thick, transparent BOPP film and are used in the food, delicatessen and non-food sectors. The film lets 92.1% of light through, and the rectangular block bottom gives the filled bag a stable base. There are nine formats from 55 + 35 × 180 mm to 100 + 60 × 280 mm, with 1,000 pieces per packaging unit.
Material and properties
The bags are made of virgin BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene, plastic code 05). The film has the following properties:
- Highly transparent: 92.1% light transmission, 2.1% haze.
- Food-safe and odourless: A declaration of food compliance is available for each format.
- Tear-resistant: Due to biaxial stretching, the film achieves a tensile strength of 136 MPa lengthways and 223 MPa crossways.
- Moisture-resistant: The PP film does not absorb water.
- Sealable: Aroma-tight closure possible using standard impulse or jaw sealers.
- Recyclable: OPP is a mono-material and easily recyclable (disposed of via the yellow bin or recycling bin in Germany).
Design and processing
The block bottom design offers both visual and functional advantages:
- Stable base thanks to the rectangular bottom, on the shelf and on the counter.
- Variable filling volumes thanks to side gussets.
- Easy filling by hand or automated.
- Closure options: Heat seal, twist tie, label or adhesive strip – flexibly adaptable to production processes and your preferences.
The bags can be labelled individually, e.g. with product information, logos or barcode labels.

The clear film allows customers to see the colour and shape of the product, whether on the shelf, at the market or in the product photo in the online shop.
Material and recycling
Our OPP block bottom bags are made from monomaterial polypropylene (PP) and are recyclable. Unlike multilayer laminated films, OPP monomaterials can be recycled within the plastic recycling system (Yellow Bag / recycling collection). Depending on the size, each bag weighs only 1.5 to 2.5 g.
We dispatch stocked items from our own warehouse on the same day for orders placed by 12:00 on working days.
