Q: Which mailing bag is suitable for which application?

FOLIENMAILER® made from white, opaque coex film (mono-material LDPE) for textiles, catalogues and other impact-resistant goods, coloured FOLIENMAILER® available in nine colours. KRAFTMAILER® made from kraft paper (135 g/m², as light 110 g/m²) with side and bottom gussets for clothing, books and cosmetics. ECOMAILER® made from at least 80% post-consumer recycled material with the Blue Angel certification (DE-UZ 30a).

Q: Can the recipient use the bag for the return shipment?

KRAFTMAILER® and ECOMAILER® feature two adhesive strips: one for shipping, one for returns. The recipient can open the mailing bag without scissors using the tear strip or perforation. FOLIENMAILER® have a permanent adhesive strip.

Q: Are the mailing bags suitable for shipping with DHL?

FOLIENMAILER® comply with DHL requirements for automated processing (coefficient of friction according to DIN EN ISO 8295). ECOMAILER® also have a DHL-compliant coefficient of friction.

Q: Do I have to register the mailing bags with a dual system myself?

For FOLIENMAILER®, KRAFTMAILER® and ECOMAILER®, Nordwerk assumes system participation in Germany, and the costs are included in the price. For deliveries to other countries, local regulations apply. Find out more in our packaging law FAQ .

Q: From what quantity do you print mailing bags with my logo?

KRAFTMAILER® available from 100 pieces. ECOMAILER® with logo on request from around 10,000 pieces, depending on the format. For other mailing bags, we will provide the minimum order quantity and price with our quote.

Q: What sizes are available?

FOLIENMAILER® from 170 x 240 mm to 600 x 900 mm, KRAFTMAILER® from 200 x 300 mm to 450 x 550 mm, ECOMAILER® from 170 x 240 mm to 550 x 750 mm. The Bag Finder suggests the appropriate size per series based on your folded item.

The paper alternative to bubble wrap

What are paper padded bags?

Our padded WAVEMAILER^® paper mailing bags offer good protection for your products. Instead of bubble wrap, a layer of corrugated paper cushions the contents.

The mailing bags consist of several layers of paper: an outer layer of white paper (140 g/m²), a middle cushioning layer of corrugated paper (120 g/m²) to absorb impacts and pressure, and an inner layer of smooth kraft paper (90 g/m²).

A self-adhesive strip is used for sealing. The bags feature a gusset, which provides greater volume and makes it easier to pack bulky items. Available in B4, C4, B5 and C5 formats. We are happy to produce custom formats to your requirements for orders starting from a run of approximately 25,000 pieces. This makes our padded paper bags well suited for sensitive products such as electronics, books, jewellery, textiles or smaller goods.

The smart alternative: Why switching to paper cushioning pays off

Antistatically optimised paper adhesive strip backing.
Even during fast packing, the release liner does not "stick" to your hands. The internal gusset provides you with a larger filling volume. At 2 x 25 mm, also suitable for dispatch as a large letter (Maxibrief). The flap is almost 8 cm long.

Suitable for automated processing.
The specially bevelled corners of the flap and the internal gussets not only make filling easier, but also ensure trouble-free automated processing with your shipping service provider. This makes these paper mailing bags suitable for couriers such as DHL, DPD, UPS or GLS.

We manufacture the WAVEMAILER^® in Germany using FSC®-certified paper (license code FSC® C130790). The mailing envelope is recyclable and should be disposed of with paper waste (“blue bin”).
